Weekly Twitter Mailbag (9/6/12)

Hello. It’s time for the weekly installment of the Twitter Mailbag. You guys ask us questions on our twitter, and we reply and give insight on here every Thursday afternoon. Without further adieu, let’s begin this week’s mailbag,

How many carries for Bell this week? (@SpartanBDF)

Le’Veon Bell had 44 carries on Friday, 24 more than he has in his Spartan career. That’s a HUGE number. So, obviously I don’t think MSU will use him as much. Although the Spartans have a less than desirable passing game right now, they can use this Central Michigan game as a bit of practice to get Andrew Maxwell and his receivers’ timing down. In my opinion, Bell shouldn’t have any more than 20 carries, but in reality he’ll probably have around 29 or so.

Why is the media focusing on the MSU players’ tweets and not the fact that they’re right regarding Robinson’s “skills”? (@JRGrizz)

While it was funny to see those tweets and those things were true about old Denard, they were fairly inappropriate and didn’t make MSU’s program look good. I understand why they were reprimanded for doing that, but the media shouldn’t be blowing this way out of proportion. They’re doing this just to stir up the pot and try to make the rivalry more intense.

What bowl do you think MSU will play in this year (realistically)? (@Avi_RagingBull)

Realistically, I actually DO think the Spartans will play in a Rose Bowl. With their incredible defense and their Heisman caliber running back, MSU is better than Nebraska and Michigan in the Legends Division, and their only challenge will be Wisconsin (again). In the case that the Spartans will play the Badgers in the B1G Championship game, Michigan State will win to avenge last year’s crushing defeat. MSU will play in the Rose Bowl, but will probably (unfortunately) lose. It’s going to be exciting to see how the season pans out, though.
