Michigan State, unsurprisingly, took care of Central Michigan easy 41-7. My prediction was 34-7, so I was pretty close. We’ll have a full recap up tomorrow, but for now we’ll have a quick reaction post.
What did we learn from the game?
-Andrew Maxwell takes time to warm up, but is pretty good once he gets going in the game.
-MSU’s wide receivers aren’t as bad as we thought and we have great depth at that spot. Macgarrett Kings, Deanthony Arnett and Aaron Burbridge all looked good.
-The defense is incredible. They got a shutout (again), considering the only points were on a pick six (on a backup QB). But we already knew that.
-Dan Conroy is an inconsistent kicker.
-Lawrence Thomas could be an offensive threat. He played a lot of fullback today.
-Larry Caper is a more than acceptable backup half back. He looked a lot like the old Larry Caper.
-RJ Williamson is a great safety, and Isaiah Lewis is going to have a pretty good successor in RJ.
-The secondary is fast and pretty good. Surprising, right? No? Oh.
Look out for the game recap tomorrow. Go green.
