Michigan State- 16 Ohio State- 17 Rapid Reactions

SO CLOSE. So close. We also learned some things from this game that was SO CLOSE.

-The Spartans offensive line looked like they were having some issues. Especially Skylar Burkland, who once again seemed to consistently make mistakes and take bad penalties. I have ONE hash tag for this: #FreeFouFonoti

-Relying on the referees is a bad idea. If MSU would’ve flat out played better football, they would’ve won. However, the Spartans decided to let the game be decided by the refs. The Spartans recovered a Braxton Miller fumble for a would probably be a touchdown, initially called a non-fumble and reversed. Since it was reversed, the Spartans got it back at the spot of the fumble and ended up not scoring a touchdown and losing. Again, MSU could’ve scored more and it would be a non-issue, but it was definitely frustrating.

-The receiving core is still frustrating, but a little bit better than last week. MSU still had a lot of dropped passes but it wasn’t nearly as many. Lippett actually had a few grabs, Fowler seemed to improve a bit and Keith Mumphery had a great game, including a highlight-reel touchdown run.

-Although Aaron Burbridge and Macgarrett Kings blew their redshirts against CMU, they’ve barely played at all. This is extremely frustrating for two reasons: They’re basically losing a year on these guys for a small chance against CENTRAL MICHIGAN, and with the MSU receivers struggling, any help would be great.

Let’s hope next game (at Indiana) will go much better.
