Former Spartans Continue To Shine

It may only be training camp, but the outlook for the Spartans in the NFL just keeps getting better and better.

Earlier today, I looked up BJ Cunningham and saw that he was on the verge of getting cut. After I tweeted about it, I got this message from Kim Cunningham, BJ’s mom:

OOPS. After I got that message I hopped on over and looked at some BJ Cunningham-related tweets, and found out that he had a fantastic practice today. An impressive 45-yard TD and a 40-yard TD. That’s huge, because since the WR competition in Miami is so close, a practice like that may have just secured him a spot on the Dolphins roster.

Also, over in Texas, former Spartan wideout and Houston Texan Keshawn Martin has been getting praise since the day he walked out onto the field. At first, people thought Martin would barely make the team replacing Jacoby Jones, but now people are saying he’s doing incredible and may have a chance to jump Kevin Walter for the 2nd receiving spot behind Andre Johnson. All is looking well for him.

Former Spartan running back and now San Diego Chargers running back Edwin Baker has been a flop overall in San Diego, and unfortunately it’s not very surprising. However, over the past few days it seems like he’s been improving. Here are some tweets:

As you can see, Baker hasn’t been spectacular, but he’s been doing alright, and MAY get a roster spot. The only trouble with this that I see is that this is one of the easiest places to get a roster spot at running back right now, considering Ryan Mathews injury.

For the other Spartans in the NFL, you can see the BOTRC post on Kirk Cousins in which he destroyed the Bears defense. For the others, there is no news, but if you have any questions, put them down in the comments or tweet us @botrc.
